What is Reiki?

Reiki is a healing technique whose roots and origins are from Japan. Reiki is a system of natural healing. It is used for relaxation and stress reduction, as well as the reduction of pain and tension to increase healing support.
Reiki is an art of healing that cascades universal life force energy and can benefit people in the following ways:

Promote Tranquility

Help Increase Relaxation

Improve Sleep

One of the primary benefits of Reiki is the ability to bring the body to a deep state of complete relaxation, allowing the body to be free of stress and ignite its potential to heal.
Reiki is being offered in hundreds of medical and holistic centers throughout the US. Reiki is a very important complementary treatment for your physical health and emotional well-being.

Every Reiki session is different for each person, because every person is unique. A Reiki session is an experience that is safe, gentle and very relaxing. You can expect to feel respected and cared for throughout your session.

During a Reiki session:
The client is fully clothed and lies on a massage table or is seated in a chair.
The client receives the beautiful experience of human touch in an energetic, sensitive way.
Typically, the practitioner places their hands gently on the client, and, while placing their hands on the head, the flow of energy will cascade down the whole body.
As Reiki is applied, there may be specific areas of focus and concentration, depending on the needs of the client.
There is a deep feeling of calm and tranquility throughout the Reiki session.

Essential Oils

Essential oils have been used for centuries to aid in healing and enhance self-care.  Essential oils are extracted directly from the bark, flower, fruit, leaf, seed, or root of a plant or tree and just one drop can have powerful health benefits. Some of my favorite essential oils include:

Lavender: known for its soothing and calming properties. Lavender is wonderful for accelerating healing time for burns, cuts, stings, and other wounds. It is jam-packed with anti-oxidant power, which is why it's fantastic for relieving oxidative stress. 

Peppermint: gives a cooling sensation and has a calming effect on the body, which can relieve sore muscles when used topically. It also has antimicrobial properties so it can help freshen bad breath and soothe digestive issues.  In addition, peppermint can be used to improve focus, energy, and concentration. 

Lemon: best known for it’s ability to cleanse toxins from any part of the body.  It is widely used to stimulate lymph drainage, to rejuvenate energy, purify skin, and act as a bug repellant.
